Masande, from Langa

Masande Mhluzi, also known as Masa6lackalion, founded Masa Township Experience. He was born in Langa and grew up across township and suburban Cape Town, which gives him a broad view of the city and its contrasts.

He is also a DJ, fashion designer and creative entrepreneur, making hand-painted garments under Alienshit Apparel. Creativity, storytelling and connecting with people shape the way the day is run.

why this one

Not a sightseeing route

Masa Township Experience sits at the intersection of local culture, tourism, food, creativity and community.

  • Local connection

Masande was born in Langa and has a genuine personal relationship with the community. This is not a route learned from a script.

  • Personal storytelling

Built around real-life stories, observations and what a local actually notices, rather than a rehearsed commentary.

  • Community interaction

Guests are encouraged to engage with people, businesses, food vendors and community spaces along the way.

  • Creative perspective

A background in music, fashion and visual creativity brings an artistic and contemporary dimension to the day.
